Max and Friends is a multimedia educational program for children with Autism and
other developmental delays.
The program combines the entertainment of a classic children’s television
program with the rigor of an
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach to curriculum. The program is fun, easy to use and, best of all, it will help children
with developmental disabilities develop the critical skills that are the foundation for all learning.

Program Approach
 |
Children develop core educational skills while they are entertained by the
games and songs the main character, Max, plays with his three friends. This innovative program uses
DVDs, story books and music to present proven educationally-based exercises in a fun, simple format reminiscent of those classic television shows we all loved as children.
Max and Friends presents exercises that children practice in more
traditional ABA programming, in a simple, entertaining program that can be used at
home or in the classroom. Children get to practice these skills, in a variety of contexts and environments. The more they practice these skills, the more likely they are to generalize, leading to a
greater chance of success.

Max and Friends
 |
|
Max and Friends focuses on
Imitation, Commands and Matching. Each of these skills is the focus of both a
DVD and a book. The DVDs, which contain about one hour of programming each, are presented in small, three to five minute long lessons that are easily digestible for children with developmental disabilities. Each
DVD lesson features the lead character, Max, engaging in exercises designed to practice these skills and the specific sub-skills necessary for the child to master and generalize them. Each book features a story that reinforces the skills highlighted in the corresponding DVD and provides an additional opportunity for practice.
The DVDs and books can be used to supplement any
existing educational programming, or as part of a more structured teaching curriculum.
Volume 1 also includes a
Parent’s Manual that guides the user through the use of the program.
